4-1024-280x330“Vast talent, historical reverence and forward thinking.” Blues Revue usa

“Awash with wit, lust and distraction…..the cleverest writer and most magnetic performer of Blues in the UK.” MOJO UK

Ladies and Gentlemen: Ian Siegal has entered the building. If you know the name, but not the game, it’s high time you made his acquaintance. He’s the British Blues Hall of Famer, seven-times British Blues Awards winner, two-times European Blues Awards winner, multiple USA Blues Music Awards nominee and feted by everyone from Mojo to Classic Rock. ‘Man & Guitar’ His BBC-produced solo album recorded at the Albert Hall, is MOJO magazine’s Blues Album of The Year.

Though he is best known as a bluesman and variously described as a legend and a national treasure, a typical Siegal solo show is much more than blues, taking in the American folklore of songwriters such Guy Clarke and Townes Van Zandt, and his own genre-defying songs.  What binds together this varied repertoire is Siegal’s fabulous voice and immense command of the guitar.

Nobody would deny this modern songwriter is at the top of his game; but don’t expect him to dine out on his press cuttings or sit polishing his trophies. For Siegal, it’s all about the next show, the next song and the next great record. He’s a man in motion. Don’t take your eyes off him.

Supporting Ian will be local musician Jamie Beau

For want of a better term, Jamie Beau is an Alt-Folk artist with elements of singer/songwriter. At the core of what he does are intense, strong vocals and eclectic guitar tones. His sound is often described as a blend of big vocals with melodic, almost aggressive finger-style percussive guitar, bound within simple and beautiful songs. Juxtaposition features in his work both musically and lyrically. “I’m a big believer that live performance should not be a carbon copy of recordings” says Jamie.

In recent years Jamie has moved from strength to strength, setting a footing as one to watch in the UK acoustic scene with recent singles & the 2013 debut release “The Shedding Skin EP”. His now eagerly awaited debut album is set to be released late 2015.

Jamie is a regular at many UK summer festivals and coupled with a busy touring schedule, he’s one hard working performer.

Sound and influence:

Put simply, Jamie makes music with various wooden boxes and a mouth. Describing his music, Jamie says “I play a guitar, stomp pedal, cajon, cuatro de Puerto Rico, drums, percussion…. I’m always looking for new and unusual sounds. If you can bang it and twang it, I’ll have a good go at playing it! Then I make my gums flap a bit. Roots wise, I grew up (like most do) listening to what their parents did, so I’m really inspired by 70′s soul and rock singers and of course a range of other stuff too like Isbells, First Aid Kit, Soundgarden, Jeff Buckley, John Grant, Ben Howard, Smashing Pumpkins, John Butler Trio and the like.”
