Live Venue

Over the years The Fishpond name has become synonymous with Live Music, our 150 capacity Ballroom regularly hosts live bands and entertainment and our stage has been graced by the likes of Ben Ottewell, John Smith and Nine Below Zero.

As a focal point for local and touring music please check our gig guides to find out what’s coming up as we look to retain the reputation of this great music venue.

Thursday Live

Each Thursday we host live acoustic music in the main bar. We have acoustic players of genres including folk, blues, rock, jazz and many more! A perfect evening to relax and take in a drink and a bite to eat.

Got that Friday feeling?… So have we!  Look out for special events and gigs in the Ballroom plus our regular live band in the main bar.

Every Saturday it’s party time at The Fishpond! The bar will play host to fantastic live bands who we know will get you dancing.

Family meal? Birthday or Hen party?… You name it; we celebrate it!

The Victorian ballroom, now restored to its former glory, is the perfect venue for both private functions and public events. We intend to host several events aimed more specifically at the local community; these may include Charity events, Adult education or children’s parties. If you have an idea, please let us know!

Easy Sundays

Sunday nights are open mic nights here at The Fishpond.

Every third Sunday of the month, John Gill and Dan Sheppard host the Open Mic Session in the bar downstairs. If you have any music, comedy, poetry or other entertaining act you’d like to show off, then come to The Fishpond for 8pm! We even supply a guitar and a PA…plus, of course, it’s FREE!

The first Sunday of every month is John Gill’s MOO up in the ballroom. The MOO is a candle-lit, cabaret-style evening featuring some fantastic, hand-picked acts performing in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. Plus, it’s FREE ENTRY!
